Sustainable ProductsManufactured from 100% recycled wood content, all of SierraPine’s products are environmentally responsible. In addition, we offer three different MDF panel and moulding products with no-added formaldehyde and one particleboard product with no added urea formaldehyde. Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) SierraPine’s three MDF plants produce panels ranging in thickness from 1/10” to 2-1/4” in a variety of grades and options, including powder-coatable, moisture resistant, flame retardant, high-density, light weight and no-added formaldehyde. Particleboard SierraPine’s three particleboard plants located on the East and West Coasts produce a wide range of grades including MS, M2, M3, shelving, countertop, underlayment and no-urea formaldehyde panels. MDF Moulding SierraPine manufactures over 500 different profiles of factory-primed MDF mouldings. Crown, base, casing and specialty items are also available in a no-added formaldehyde substrate. Plum Creek Glacier Green and Glacier Clear To meet evolving emission standards for composite wood panels — as well as marketplace demand for greener building products — Plum Creek MDF, Inc. has introduced Glacier Green and Glacier Clear fiberboard. These products incorporate EcoBind Resin Technologies from Hexion Specialty Chemicals to reduce formaldehyde emissions to ultra-low levels. This allows wood product manufacturers and construction professionals to meet the most stringent green building environmental standards including LEED™ requirements for credits 4.1, 4.2 and 4.4. Glacier Green meets the Composite Panel Association (CPA) Environmentally Preferred Product Standard (EPP 0.2ppm or below) and CARB Phase I ceilings. Glacier Clear satisfies the requirements for LEED credits and other stringent green building standards. Plum Creek low-, medium- and high-density products are available in Glacier Green and Glacier Clear formulations.

VT Industries GREENGUARD certified laminate countertops VT Industries postformed fine laminate countertops are now GREENGUARD certified. Barcelona, Caprice, Classic, Futura, Nova, Regal, Tempo and Valencia profiles from VT Industries are manufactured with particleboard core, water-based adhesive and GREENGUARD indoor air quality certified laminate to meet acceptable GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) indoor air quality criteria. Both VT standard products and VT EQcountertops perform to a more stringent level of indoor air quality. EQcountertops incorporate a recycled wood fiber core that uses no added urea formaldehyde in the manufacturing process.

KerfKore FlexGreen The Kerfkore Co. introduces FlexGreen, an environmentally friendly product that can be used for radius applications. It offers a bendable product that is better for the environment and one's health, the company says. FlexGreen is an ideal product for producing stable architectural panels. The face, core and glue used contain no added formaldehyde. The face is made from FSC certified Eucalyptus fiber hardboard attached to a particleboard substrate core that is made from 100 percent recovered and recycled fiber. FlexGreen contributes to LEED credit points for MR 4.1, MR 4.2 and EQ 4.4.

Temple-Inland TemStock-Free™ Temple-Inland® announces the introduction of TemStock-Free™, a new composite panel product with no added urea formaldehyde. In addition, it is 100 percent recycled/recovered fiber content. With low urea formaldehyde emissions and recycled/recovered fiber content, TemStock-Free can contribute toward points in both LEED® and Green Globe™ rating systems. With performance equal to Temple-Inland's TemStock-S product, TemStock-Free delivers strength for fastener holding, precise machining characteristics, and a smooth surface for laminating. It is available in thicknesses from ¼ to 1 1/8 in., in 4-ft.-wide sheets from 8 to 24 ft. in length.

Boise Evergreen™ Boise Evergreen™ is a new Premium Sustainable Particleboard™ from Boise Cascade. Boise Evergreen champions the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and embodies an Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP). Boise Evergreen comprises 100 percent recycled or reclaimed fiber and carries no added urea formaldehyde. Boise Evergreen features emissions as low as 0.01 ppm and supports up to five LEED® credits.

Timber Products GreenT line GreenT is the latest innovation from Timber Products Company. GreenT Hardwood Plywood panels are available with an MDF, veneer or particleboard core. The MDF panels, called Arreis™, are produced with 100 percent post-industrial recycled wood fiber. The GreenT line also includes a panel with a hardwood face and decorative overlay back, a two-sided decorative overlay panel, raw particleboard panels and particleboard door core panels. GreenT panels are made with certified materials and meet or exceed many of the requirements of America's primary green building programs, such as LEED and the recent California Air Resources Board (CARB) formaldehyde requirements.
